2005 Jetta TDI (A5) with BRM PD140 kit
This turbo is a very nice upgrade for the BRM TDI engine. The car is much more responsive, has more power, drives a whole lot better, and gets better mileage (when driven sensibly). I performed the whole swap in a weekend. I bought the whole she-bang (downpipe, tune, flashzilla, and turbo with install kit). While I was performing the PD swap, I deleted the EGR cooler and performed the bypass. AARodriguez was there every step of the way if I ran into any snags. I did the stage 2 tune (helps prolong the life of my unknown condition clutch). All in all, the swap was well worth it. It runs great and installed without any major hiccups. The way I see it, with my future plans (injectors, tougher clutch, and cam) this swap provided me with everything I needed to solidify a solid base to build off of. The stock turbo is by far the biggest choke point and limitation when upgrading any BRM TDI. I did the swap and never looked back.
