The CR170 turbo is the only true "plug and play" turbo for the CR140 TDIs that we have here in the USA. It's a great upgrade, especially if your stock turbo is blown! This is a bolt on turbo upgrade other than the EGR cooler which must be deleted due to clearance issues and it is located on the opposite side of the stock CR140 turbo.
Instructions, this is for off-road use only, you will not be able to pass emissions testing and the car will not be street legal:
-Remove oil return line
-Remove oil feed line
-Remove turbo outlet,
-Disconnected all sensors
-Remove the passenger side axle
-Pull all 8 exhaust nuts from the turbo to head studs
-Pull turbo off of the head and lower it through the opening between the subframe and the oil pan
-Now lift the new turbo through that opening and resinstall turbo and all components

Totally transforms the car into basically a Euro spec GTD. I will be running it into the ground. This made it the best all-rounder vehicle.
This particular company has outfitted my VW JETTA TDI since 2012. With the new turbo & accessories I’m looking forward to tunemyeuro.com does the conversion.
Everything was shipped quickly and packaged to make it in one piece. the install is pretty straight forward. I wouldn't advise trying to do it in a driveway. Power gains are really good. If you are looking for the power the car needs, this is the right mod for you!
Turbo kit was packaged very nicely. I emailed them on a Sunday, and they responded to me. Called Monday, and had my turbo Wednesday. Couldn't be happier. Only thing I didn't like is that there is nothing that tells you what each part is. I figured it all out for the most part, but a picture and description of parts would have been awesome just for location purposes. But, being as that is my only "complaint" this was to me a great purchase from an amazing distributor.
I have been driving with this turbo for about 2 months. Dynoed the car Oct 10th and saw 60hp gain over stock (With Stg 3+ Malone and Buzzken exhaust system). Installation was straight forward and had no issues. The spool is great even around 1500 rpm. Over 2k rpm and it is really responsive.
I never would have thought my golf would run like that, along with the Rawtek exhaust system, it runs and sounds amazing! Best money ever spent
I have 09 mk5 Jetta 2.0 CR. when my stock turbo decided to break. I was already running a Malone stage 2 and 2.5 buzzken down pipe. With the recent price reduction in converting to the CR 170 turbo I decided to go with Malone stage III and CR 170 turbo.
Wow was that a great decision. It has plenty of power and actually inceesed my fuel mileage.
( when I can keep my foot out of it)
But that's not why you buy this tune . This tune is for those people who want to Keep up with the GTI crowd and run down the other 2.0 import crowd And this tune has the power to do so.
Smooth power delivery, increase in fuel mileage ,and the wicked turbo whistle when you get on it hard. My other recommendations to you is get the full exhaust with resonator and muffler or at least muffler.
This is a nice upgrade to the stock turbo on the CR 2.0L VW diesel. It's not a monster turbo, but with Malone's tune it really wakes the car up. Where the old turbo would fall off, this one just keeps pulling. Definitely a great price from FixMyVW!
First let me say the customer service was REMARKABLE. These guys/gals work their tails off for you and with you. They are very quick to respond to questions. They were not anxious to just sell me something they wanted to sell me the right thing. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was in order. It was refreshing to deal with people who actually care that the customer is satisfied. This company IS concerned. Call them and talk to them and you will see for yourself.
Now, on to the best part.; The CR170 is fantastic. I love the sound, I love the performance and I was very satisfied with the price. The increased performance is truly remarkable (I beg for a stock outfitted car to pull up beside me so I can leave them watching my tail lights wondering what was that). The increased MPG is seriously significant (not enough data to give accurate write up yet but I’m going to give a conservative estimate of 6-8 mpg for now).
When my Turbo failed I questioned owning this car. Now, with the new install I’m having FUN driving it. ALL TDI’s should run like this!
