JR Auto Performance 335D ST2.8 - “The Big Boy update!”
We released new tuning software to take full advantage of stock turbines and unleash to full TQ from 335D – 50 FT LB stronger than our Stage 2.5.
New tuning software futures and updates as follows:
- Turbine flap duty cycle maps modification to help better transition when switching from small HP turbo to big LP turbo – it helps to reduce boost issues around 3K rpm range and keep the TQ more flat in that area – see diagram below
- Start of Injection maps SOI – modification
- TQ limiters increased
- Target Boost and Limiters modification

- Original - stock turbos
- DPF, EGR, SCR delete
- EGR Race Pipe
- 335D Stepped Intercooler – recommended
- Stock new air filter
- Clean intake manifold and valves

Great tune like night and day
Couldn't be happier with the 2.8 tune. Andrew was a big help when I had a no start issue that turned out to be unrelated. Fast response time, good customer service. I would recommend this tune for anyone looking for more power.
Probably one of the cleanest ECU tunes for a diesel ever. The car now runs like it was designed, clean effortless powerband. Smooth all the way to shift points, no hesitation whatsoever. The passing game on the freeway is hands down the most fun! Some prius is in the left lane traveling 60? Hammer down and pass, no shift needed just pure torque. You will be accelerating for no reason, torque is FUN!
The tune has been great! No issues
I had a poorly done delete from another shop. Turned out they cut a lot of corners and charged me standard pricing. One of the things they did was some kind of no-name ECU flash - I have no idea where it came from, but they could not get the CELs to go away. When I found out about Andrew, I drove up there and he did the flash, replaced some vacuum hoses and I was on my way. Had to reset the codes once the next day, but ever since, it's been running smoother and more powerful than ever.
Absolutely amazing! I've done several thousand miles on the tune so far without problems. Power and driveablity is excellent!
Have two 335d both running the stage 2.8 tune and they are a absolute blast to drive. Torque monsters and average 32-36mpg depending on driving style. 10/10 recommend
Your service finished 4 years and 3 months of attempted trouble shooting of my 335d. Most of the years the car was inoperative in my home garage. Three dealers attempted to troubleshoot the increasing CBU. No independents except one of your competitors would work on the car at all. He emptied the DOC and DPF: completely clogged of course. But that was incomplete until your service. I find the torque is increased so much that I fear for the constant velocity joints and axles. But that is my problem, I will use the extra performance for passing and restrict jump starts. Original(new car) fuel mileage on the highway was about 36. It seems to be about 39 now. I drove the car ten miles further than ever recently. I received the car February of 2009 and previously had only driven 550 miles between fuel stops. You and your staff deserve praise. I would like to get to know your whole crew but I live in Columbus.
